Extended
Warranty (purchased at the time of sale)
An extended warranty
typically extends equipment parts and labor coverage to five years, includes preventive
maintenance, establishes a fixed and predictable maintenance cost, and earns a substantial
discount for paying future service costs in advance. An additional benefit of extending the
warranty at the time of equipment purchase is the opportunity to finance maintenance costs in
an equipment purchase lease. Pricing also includes full allowance for any underlying
manufacturer’s warranty coverage that exceeds one year.

Extended
Warranty (purchased before basic warranty expires)
An extended warranty
typically extends equipment parts and labor coverage to five years, includes preventive
maintenance, establishes a fixed and predictable maintenance cost, and earns a discount for paying
future service costs in advance. Pricing also includes full allowance for any underlying

Annual Service
Contract
An annual service
contract typically provides parts and labor coverage, includes preventive maintenance, and
establishes a fixed and predictable maintenance cost. If the warranty or a prior service contract
has expired, then an assessment fee will be charged to determine that the equipment is operating
within the manufacturer’s specifications before a service contract can be
issued.

Off-Contract Work
Order
Preventive maintenance or repairs may be obtained
under a work order if the equipment is not under warranty or a service
contract.
